Frank Warren expects changes ahead of Moses Itauma’s planned return early in 2027, with the promoter concerned about his pacing after the defeat by Filip Hrgovic.

Frank Warren expects serious changes before Moses Itauma returns to the ring early in 2027, Boxing News reported. The Queensberry promoter outlined those plans following Itauma’s first defeat against Filip Hrgovic.

Warren’s concerns include Itauma’s ability to pace himself over a scheduled 12 rounds. He was furious after learning from Itauma’s brother Karol that the fighter would not feel like a champion unless he knocked Hrgovic out.

Speaking to IFL TV, Warren said Itauma was back in the gym and that he intended to meet the team to review what happened. “He’s very disappointed because, first of all, he was winning the fight. He knows what he did wrong.”

Itauma knocked Hrgovic down in the second round of their fight last month, but tired after controlling much of the action and was stopped on his feet in the ninth. Hrgovic won the vacant IBF heavyweight title, ending the 21-year-old’s first world title challenge and inflicting his first loss as either an amateur or a professional.
