How we work
Combat Sports UK uses AI to help research and draft its journalism. Every article is read and approved by a named editor before it is published, and that editor holds responsibility for it.
Who is responsible
Darren Murray is the editor of Combat Sports UK and holds editorial responsibility for everything published here. Where an article carries his byline, he has read it in full and approved it. Where it carries the Combat Sports UK Newsdesk byline, it has still been through the same review.
Approval is recorded against a specific version of an article. If the text changes afterwards, the approval lapses automatically and the article is withdrawn from the site until it has been reviewed again. An editor’s name cannot end up on words they did not read.
How we source stories
We do not republish other outlets’ articles. Where we learn of a story from a social account that reposts other people’s work, that account is recorded as where we found it and is never cited as the source. We trace the claim back to something accountable — the person who said it, the promotion that announced it, or an identifiable outlet doing its own reporting — and we credit that outlet plainly.
A story that only ever traces back to a repost does not get published here.
What we will not assert
Where sources disagree and we cannot resolve it, we say so in the article rather than quietly picking one. Those articles carry a “what we are not stating as fact” section. We would rather tell you what is unresolved than sound more certain than we are.
The same applies to fight data. Where our source records that a fight ended early but not whether it was a knockout or a submission, we say it was a finish and give the round — we do not guess. Where a ranking feed disagrees with reality, a human-verified record takes precedence over the feed.
Pictures
Our article images are original illustrations generated in our own house style and labelled as such. We do not use press or agency photography.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, we want to know. Corrections are made on the original article with a note explaining what changed, rather than edited away silently. Email corrections@combatsportuk.com.
Times
Every time on this site is UK local — GMT or BST as applicable. A card that starts on Saturday night in America and finishes on Sunday morning here is described the way a British reader experiences it.
