John Fury disputes December date for Jake Paul–Tommy Fury rematch

John Fury says he did not agree to a December rematch between Tommy Fury and Jake Paul, proposing February or March 2027 instead and dismissing the importance of the $10million offer.

John Fury has disputed that he agreed to a December rematch between Tommy Fury and Jake Paul, saying another commitment was close to being finalised, The Sun reported.

John, who is his son’s coach and manager, said he had made the scheduling problem clear during a meeting. He maintained that February or March 2027 would work and dismissed the $10million on offer as a reason to accept December.

“I didn’t shake your hand on December, but what I did say, we can do it definitely in February or March, which we can do.”

Tommy is in talks about appearing on a Misfits Boxing card in December. John also pointed to a possible December fight for Tyson Fury, arguing that staging major bouts within days of each other would be poor business.

Paul’s promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian is keen to arrange the rematch for Paul’s next fight, following intermittent talks since their first meeting.

Paul responded to John’s comments by posting a picture of his eighth-round knockdown against Tommy. Tommy won their 2023 contest, becoming the first man to defeat Paul.
