More than half of this year's UFC bouts have ended before the final bell
Of 412 completed bouts recorded this year, 232 were stopped before a round ran its course. A further 180 went the full final round.

Of the 412 completed UFC bouts recorded in our results database this year, 232 ended before the final bell — just under 56%.
The remaining 180 saw a round run its full five minutes with the fight ending there.
How this is counted. Our results source records the winner, the round and the time on the clock, but not whether a fight ended by knockout, submission or on the judges' scorecards. A bout is counted here as ending early when the clock shows it was stopped before a round ran its course. That distinguishes stoppages from fights that went the distance; it does not identify how a stoppage came about, and no attempt is made to infer it.
What the figure covers. These are the bouts held in 2026 that we have recorded, not every bout the promotion has staged. The number moves as more are added.
On that basis, a UFC card this year has been slightly more likely than not to see its fights finish early.

How we compiled this
This article is built from our own fight database rather than from reporting elsewhere. Schedules come from promotion and bookmaker data, fighter records and rankings from the UFC’s published athlete data, and results from the promotion’s own results feed. Figures cover the bouts we have ingested and change as more are added. How we work.
